Privacy Policy

The short version: Wigcam doesn't collect any personal data. Your face, the camera picture and the depth camera's data are used on your iPhone, live, to put the wig on you. They are never stored, never sent anywhere and never shared.

Your face and the TrueDepth camera

Wigcam uses Apple's ARKit face tracking with the front TrueDepth camera: the position and direction of your face, its face mesh, and the depth map. It uses them to put the wig on your head and keep it there as you move, to fit the wig to the size and shape of your head, to make the hair fall behind your face, shoulders and hands, and to keep tattoos and makeup on your skin.

• All of it is processed on your iPhone, in memory, in real time, and discarded frame by frame.
• Face data and depth data are never saved, never sent to a server, and never shared with anyone.
• They are never used for advertising, marketing, tracking, identifying or recognising people, or any kind of data mining.
• Wigcam does not use Face ID and does not know who you are.

Other people in the picture

If other people are in front of the camera, Wigcam can put wigs on them too. Their faces are handled exactly as yours: on your iPhone, live, and nothing is kept.

Hands and the sky

Wigcam uses Apple's Vision on the camera picture to find hands, so fingers can touch the hair, and, when you turn on Sky, people's outlines, so a sky can go behind them. This also happens only on your iPhone, live, and nothing is kept.

Photos and videos

Wigcam makes a photo or video only when you tap Photo or Video. It leaves the app only when you tap Save, which puts it in your own Photos, or Share, which opens the iOS share sheet so you choose where it goes. The microphone is on only while a video is recording, for its sound.

What stays on your iPhone

Wigcam remembers your last wig and colour, your makeup and tattoos, your fine-tune settings, and whether it has shown you its tips. These stay on your iPhone and are deleted when you delete the app.

Purchases

If Wigcam offers purchases, Apple handles them through the App Store. We never see your payment details.

No accounts, no tracking

There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party code in Wigcam. Nothing tracks you across apps or websites.

Children

Wigcam collects no personal data from anyone, including children.

This website

wigcam.com has no cookies, no analytics and no tracking. Like any web server, ours keeps short-lived technical logs of requests, such as addresses and times, to keep the site running and safe.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
