Which iPhones does Wigcam run on?

An iPhone with Face ID, with iOS 16 or later. Wigcam needs the front TrueDepth camera, the one Face ID uses, to follow your face. iPhones with a Home button, including the iPhone SE, don't have it.

Why does Wigcam ask for the camera?

To see your face and put the wig on it, live. Everything happens on your iPhone, and nothing is stored or sent. If you said no, turn the camera on for Wigcam in the Settings app, under Privacy & Security, Camera.

Why does it ask for the microphone, and for Photos?

The microphone records the sound of your videos, only while a video is recording. Photos is asked for when you first tap Save, to put your photo or video there. Wigcam only adds to Photos; it doesn't read your library.

How do I take a photo or a video?

Tap the big red button in the middle to start a video, and tap it again to stop; a video can be up to 30 seconds. Tap the smaller Photo button beside it for a picture. Turn on the Timer for 3 seconds to get ready first, with both hands free.

Where do my photos and videos go?

Nowhere, until you choose. Each one opens full screen with Share and Save. Your last one waits at the bottom left of the camera, so you can share it again.

The wig doesn't sit right on my head.

Tap Fine-tune on the right and move the sliders for size, width, up and down, forward and back, length and volume. Reset puts them back. Good light on your face also helps Wigcam fit the wig.

The storm's lightning is too bright for me.

Open Settings in Wigcam (the gear at the top left) and turn on Less flashing. Each strike then becomes one soft glow.

What is the Wigcam mark on my photos?

Photos and videos made with free styles carry a small Wigcam mark with wigcam.com in a corner. The Wig Pass, when it's available, removes it.

How do I restore a purchase?

Open Settings in Wigcam and tap Restore purchases. Purchases are tied to your Apple ID, so sign in with the same one you bought with. To cancel the Wig Pass, open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
